A broad brim that stays put
- Wide brim: about 8 cm all round, with small stitched rows that keep it in shape.
- Chin strap: an adjustable cord with a toggle; tuck it inside the crown when you do not need it.
- Snap-up side: a snap at the side lets you fold the brim up against the crown.
- Vent eyelets: metal eyelets on the crown let warm air out.
- Hat band: a braided cord band with a brown tab, and an embroidered mountain motif on the front of the crown.
It weighs about 75 g (supplier-stated) and fits heads from 55 to 60 cm. The fabric is water-repellent, not waterproof, so it handles showers rather than a day of steady rain.
