Finding your size
Compare your own chest, waist and hip measurements with the size table, which gives the garment's measurements in cm. For a layer worn over a fleece or a base layer, choose a chest 4 to 6 cm (1½–2½″) above your own.
80% merino wool, cushioned underfoot
- Merino blend: 80% merino wool with polyester, nylon and a little elastane for shape and stretch.
- Cushioned foot: a thicker knit under the sole for walking in boots.
- Crew height: the ribbed leg reaches mid-calf, above the top of a hiking boot.
- Ribbed instep: a band of rib across the top of the foot helps the sock stay in place.
- Contrast heel and toe: a darker yarn where the sock wears most.
The supplier rates them for about -20 C to 15 C (supplier-stated): a warm sock for autumn and winter walks, likely too warm for a summer hike. Sizes run by EU shoe size; if you sit on 40, choose by the boot you wear them in.

Wash wool socks inside out on a cool wool cycle and dry them flat, away from direct heat, so the merino keeps its shape.
