Choosing traction
Ice cleats and spikes are for icy paths and packed snow on ordinary boots; crampons with front points are for steep ice and snow and need stiff boots made for them. Check the shoe sizes each size fits, and take them off on rock and indoors.
A front zip and a drawcord top
- Front zip: The zip runs down the front, so the cover opens wide and goes on without a struggle.
- Drawcord top: A bungee cord with a toggle closes the top round your ankle to keep splashes out.
- Ridged rubber sole: The rubber sole has a raised tread at the toe and heel for wet pavements and paths.
- Coated fabric: Polyester with a PVC coating and sealed seams, as the listing states, rinses clean under a tap.
- Folds small: Each pair folds flat for a coat pocket, a pannier or a daypack.
