Choosing a size
As a rule of thumb, a day hike needs 15 to 30 litres, a night or two away 30 to 50 litres, and a longer trip 50 litres or more. Measure your back from the bony point at the base of the neck down to the top of the hip bones and compare it with the pack's back length where it is given.
Room for a week on the trail
- Main compartment: a drawcord top under a lid, with a side zip for reaching into the middle of the pack.
- Bottom compartment: a zipped section at the base for a sleeping bag or wet gear.
- Pockets: a zipped lid pocket and zipped pockets on the front and sides.
- Carry system: padded shoulder straps, a chest strap with a buckle and a padded hip belt.
- Attachments: side compression straps, trekking pole holders and small hooks for extra gear.
The pack is marked 90 L and measures about 85 x 38 x 26 cm; the listing gives about 1.2 kg. It is not a waterproof pack: choose With Rain Cover to add a pull-over cover for wet days. A maker's name is printed on the lid and the lower pocket.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between the two options? With Rain Cover adds a black pull-over cover that fits over the whole pack; Without Rain Cover is the pack alone.
Can I carry trekking poles? Yes. Loops at the base and straps on the side hold a pair of trekking poles.
Is it too big for a day walk? It is built for multi-day trips. For a day walk, a 20 to 40 L daypack is lighter and easier to carry.
