Before you rely on it
Practise with a compass and a map on a known route before you need them, and keep the compass away from phones, magnets and metal while taking a bearing. Check a first aid kit before each trip and replace what has been used or is past its date.
Four finger grips on a wide D shape
- Finger grips: Four cut-outs along the spine let you hold it like a handle.
- Spring gate: The straight gate springs shut once the strap or ring is in.
- Wide opening: The D shape takes pack webbing, belt loops and key rings.
- Easy to find: Bright solid colours stand out in a pack or a drawer.
This is an accessory carabiner with no climbing rating. Never use it for climbing, abseiling or to hold a person's weight. The gate has no lock.
