Lens categories

Sunglass lenses are graded 0 to 4 under EN ISO 12312-1: category 2 for everyday sun, 3 for bright sun, water and snow, and 4 for glaciers and high mountains, never for driving. The category and UV figures are the supplier's unless a standard is named.

Glare off the road, colour kept true

Polarised lenses: Filter the flat glare from roads, water and glass, so you squint less.
UV400: The lenses block UV light up to 400 nm (supplier-stated).
Teardrop aviator shape: Wide lenses and a double bridge give broad cover around the eyes.
Adjustable nose pads: Soft pads on wire arms bend to fit narrow or wide noses.
Seven colours: Plain, mirrored and gold-framed versions, from brown to mirror orange.

The frame is one size and the same for women and men. Polarised lenses can make some car dashboards and phone screens look dark at certain angles. The UV rating and lens coating are the supplier's figures.

Care and cleaning

Rinse grit off the lenses with water before you wipe them. Dry them with the soft cloth, and keep the glasses in their case when you are not wearing them.

Frequently asked questions

Are they good for driving? Yes. The polarised lenses cut glare from the road and other cars. Some dashboard screens may look darker through them.

Can I adjust the fit? Yes. The soft nose pads sit on wire arms that you can bend gently to suit your nose.

Is the Gold colour a lens or a frame colour? Gold is a gold-tone frame with dark lenses, as shown on its photo.
