Choosing a size
As a rule of thumb, a day hike needs 15 to 30 litres, a night or two away 30 to 50 litres, and a longer trip 50 litres or more. Measure your back from the bony point at the base of the neck down to the top of the hip bones and compare it with the pack's back length where it is given.

Care and cleaning
Brush off dried mud, then sponge the fabric with lukewarm water and mild soap. Hang it open to dry, out of strong sun.
