Reading the figures

Brightness in lumens and run time are the supplier's figures and are measured on different modes: the brightest mode runs for the shortest time. Water resistance is an IPX rating under IEC 60529 where one is stated: IPX4 withstands splashes, not being submerged.

White beam and red light in one lamp

  • Four modes: One button steps through high, medium, strobe and red.
  • Red light: Red LEDs on either side cut glare for map reading, star watching or a shared tent.
  • Tilting head: The lamp angles down to light the ground at your feet or the job in your hands.
  • AAA batteries: Three AAA cells sit in the lamp housing; change them in a minute on the trail.
  • Stretch strap: An elastic polyester band with a slide adjuster holds the lamp steady on the head.

Batteries are not in the box: you need three AAA cells. The 3 W output and the 8.5 x 7 x 5 cm size are the seller's figures. The housing is made to cope with rain and splashes, not with being submerged.

Wipe the lens and housing with a dry cloth. Take the batteries out if you store the lamp for several weeks.

Are batteries included? No. The lamp takes three AAA batteries, bought separately.

What is the red light for? Red light keeps your eyes used to the dark and does not dazzle the people around you.

Can I use it in the rain? Yes, the seller describes the housing as water-resistant for rain and splashes. Do not submerge it.
